Job Summary
Spanish interpreter needed in Providence, RI area for in-person medical interpretation services as an independent contractor. Requires full bilingual ability, medical terminology familiarity, HIPAA/compliance, reliable transportation, access to a printer, and ability to use an online portal to print/upload vouchers. Certification and interpreters’ experience required; simultaneous interpreting experience preferred. Schedule is PRN with availability typically 7AM-5PM on weekdays; flexible hours but not guaranteed based on client needs and languages spoken. Must be able to attend local appointments in person and perform video calls as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Fully bilingual
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality/ HIPPA compliance
- In PERSON interpreters only, must have transportation to attend appointments locally
- Technical skills for learning/using online portal (printing and uploading vouchers required)
- Must have access to a printer
- Interpreting experience and certification REQUIRED
- Proper set up to do video calls as needed
- Simultaneous interpreting experience preferred
- Background checks required
- Schedule is PRN (as needed), and needs can be sporadic depending on languages spoken. Availability M-F 7AM-5PM
