Spanish Bilingual Substance Use Counselor

Develop treatment plans for substance use disorder patients in concert with the Program Director or Clinical Supervisor, utilizing a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach. Provide individual and group counseling, conduct assessments, coordinate services, and offer psycho-education while maintaining all required documentation. Collaborate with internal and external team members, referral resources, mentors, and family members to support patient recovery and decision-making. Based on assessments, make referrals to appropriate programs and agencies, assist with scheduling admissions or appointments, and monitor patient access to treatment to address recovery barriers. This role serves as the primary counselor to a caseload within a comprehensive Health and Human Services Agency with over 60 programs across New York City.
