Job Summary
Conduct screening and intake interviews to determine applicant appropriateness for program admission and establish level of care recommendations. Enter all screening and follow-up contacts into the agency's electronic database while ensuring required documentation is completed per policy. Provide post-screening contact and follow-up to assigned applicants on the eligibility or wait list to facilitate timely admission or referrals. Offer outreach and educational services to the local community, schools, and agencies, including conducting psycho-educational lectures and therapeutic groups related to chemical dependency. Function as a liaison to patients' families, legal authorities, and community-based agencies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- OASAS CASAC-T or CASAC Certification
- At least One (1) year experience conducting Substance Use screenings/intake or substance abuse counseling preferably within a Medication Assisted Program
- Good working knowledge of community social service resources
- Ability to articulate in a clear and concise manner the agency's eligibility criterion and its treatment continuum of care
- Knowledge of and experience working with persons with co-occurring disorders
- Knowledge of Client Rights
- Knowledge of Code of Ethics
- Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Bilingual Spanish
