Job Summary
Assist teachers with instructional, clerical, student management, and daily life activities for special education students in special education or general classrooms. Maintain strong communication with students, staff, and parents while supervising students in community settings. Complete tasks independently and participate in training provided by the Special Education Department. This role requires a high school diploma or GED, with previous experience working with students with special needs preferred. Candidates must possess knowledge of child guidance principles, basic instructional methods, and strong computer and oral/written communication skills. The position operates during the school year, with shifts typically running from 7:15am to 3:30pm. Benefits include paid holidays, PTO, life insurance, and a public pension for those working more than six hours daily.
