Job Summary
Manage students with significant behavioral disabilities by implementing positive behavior supports, interpreting written plans, and modeling techniques for staff. Collect and analyze data on student behaviors to recommend instructional modifications while collaborating with school teams to maintain a safe learning environment. Provide accommodations such as reading tests aloud or check-in/check-out support, and drive students to/from school using district vehicles. Remain calm during crisis situations, maintain student confidentiality, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, bending, standing, and sitting in student-size chairs) for extended periods of time
- Must be able to move from sitting on floor to standing position repeatedly
- Must be able to safely manage physical or verbally aggressive students
- Must be able to drive district vehicles to transportation students various school settings as applicable
- Must be able to utilize quick body movements to maintain safety and implement student behavior plans
- Must be willing to train and acquire MANDT certification
- Must be able to adapt to changing work priorities
- Must be able to display tact and courtesy
- Must be able to meet deadlines and schedules
- Must be able to set priorities
- Must be able to be attentive to detail
- Must be able to work with detailed information/data
- Must be able to relate to special needs students in a positive and confident manner

- Must be able to participate in and utilize MANDT training
- Must be able to work with bio-hazards (blood borne pathogens, human waste, cleaning/disinfecting materials, etc.)
- Must be able to participate in required school and district training (e.g. van certification)
- Must be able to drive district vehicles to transportation students various school settings as applicable
