Job Summary
Sous Chef needed to join the kitchen team at Nottingham Girls' High School. You’ll support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, help deliver high standards of food and service, maintain food safety and allergen controls, contribute to menu planning, manage mise en place, and assist with events and functions. The role is within Holroyd Howe’s contract catering for independent schools, focusing on safe mealtimes for pupils and allergen management. Highlights include 28 days holiday, enhanced maternity support, DBS check for suitability to work with children, flexible training and development opportunities, and free meals while at work. Candidates should have experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in a contract catering environment, a passion for fresh seasonal food, strong teamwork and communication skills, and the right to work in the UK.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in a contract catering environment (preferably independent education)
- Passionate about fresh, seasonal food and creative presentation
- Strong attention to detail and high food safety standards
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Flexible and proactive attitude
- Right to Work in the UK
- DBS check (Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service) will be required for all successful applicants
