Job Summary

Support the Head Chef by monitoring kitchen activities, expediting orders for quality presentation, and assuming full leadership duties during the Head Chef's absence. Prepare food items according to standard recipes while maintaining organized workstations and proper sanitation storage. Complete opening and closing duties, including setting up supplies, cleaning equipment, and conducting scheduled inventories to stock and requisition necessary items. Communicate meal requirements, allergies, and special requests to guests while maintaining daily inventory and work orders. This role requires 45-55+ hours per week including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must have at least two years of cooking experience and six months managing a full-service kitchen.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 2 years cooking
  • 6 months managing a full-service restaurant kitchen
  • Familiarity with alcoholic beverage control laws
  • Valid Class C Driver License
  • Driving record meeting the minimum standards required by the resort insurance carrier
  • Valid food handlers' card
  • Ability to work 45-55+ hours per week
  • Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays
  • Flexible schedule
  • Ability to speak, read and understand advanced cooking directions
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
