Job Summary
Account for kitchen operations including production, cleanliness, and deputize in the absence of the Executive Head Chef. Work within a large kitchen team to ensure food is served at the highest standards, managing production for up to 1000 dishes per night across services. Create and deliver appropriate menus using brand standards and suppliers, while maintaining technical skills to work every section for every service period. Experience catering meetings, social events, and restaurants is required, with Lebanese cuisine knowledge preferred. This role offers 40 hours per week guaranteed over 3.5 days, with a salary of £38,947.12 plus service charge. The position is part of the IHG Hotels & Resorts family, providing global opportunities and extensive training.
Required Qualifications
- Sous chef experience for 1-2 years within a global hotel brand or restaurant of the same classification / cuisine (as minimum) with comparable size and complexity
- Experience catering meetings, social events and restaurants
- Level 3 Food Safety certification
- Knowledge in HACCP
- Knowledge of appropriate working to brand standards relating to food
- Ability to create and deliver appropriate menus
- Ability to use appropriate suppliers and product
- Ability to be part of external networks
- Ability to be up to date with critical issues and trends in food
- Technical skills to work on every section for every service period in the kitchen
- Ability to be accountable for kitchen operation including production, cleanliness
- Ability to deputise in the absence of the Executive Head Chef
- Ability to work in a team to ensure food is served at the highest standards
- Ability to work within a large kitchen team
- Ability to learn and grow within the organisation
- Ability to work alongside talented Executive and Head Chefs
- Ability to march to the beat of their own drum
- Legal requirements to work in the UK
