Job Summary
Sous Chef in Plum Market’s Prepared Foods Department leads daily BOH operations, overseeing prep, production, sanitation, and team management while maintaining Plum Market standards for food quality and safety. Responsible for training and coaching team members, supporting production scheduling and department planning, enforcing sanitation procedures, and partnering with department leadership to manage labor goals, shrink, and inventory accuracy. Able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Proficient in Microsoft Office and kitchen-management systems; ServSafe Manager Certification is preferred. Background check required.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a culinary leadership role
- Knowledge of food preparation, kitchen safety, sanitation standards, and inventory practices
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and kitchen management systems
