Job Summary
Sous Chef is the second-in-command of the Prepared Foods Department, leading daily BOH operations and aiding the Chef de Cuisine. Responsible for overseeing prep, production, sanitation, and team management to ensure Plum Market standards of food quality and safety are met. Trains and develops team members, enforces food safety and sanitation procedures, supports production scheduling and department planning, and manages performance, labor goals, and inventory with leadership collaboration. Proven ability to lead a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen and to coach staff to deliver consistent, high-quality food while maintaining guest service expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a culinary leadership role
- Knowledge of food preparation, kitchen safety, sanitation standards, and inventory practices
- Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to coach and direct teams
- ServSafe Manager Certification preferred
