Job Summary
Sous Chef is responsible for supporting the Head Chef in leading the kitchen department to ensure the highest standards of cooking, presentation and service. This role involves supervising the kitchen junior team, managing daily operations and ensuring guest dining experiences meet luxury standards. Key duties include managing staff schedules, recruitment and onboarding, training and performance evaluations, ensuring food quality and consistent presentation, controlling labour and food costs, conducting stock checks and SOPs, maintaining health and safety standards, coordinating with front desk for VIP guest preferences, and assisting in inventory, procurement, and reporting. The role requires leadership, strong organizational and multitasking skills, ability to work under pressure, and a genuine passion for luxury dining. Eligibility to live and work in the UK is required; visa sponsorship is not available for this role. The role is based in London, UK, with shifts including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Required Qualifications
- Intermediate Food Hygiene Qualification (Level 3) preferred
- Food Hygiene Qualification (Level 2) essential
- 1-2 years' experience in a high-profile, fast-paced kitchen in luxury hotel or resort in a supervisory/management role
