Job Summary

Merion Golf Club is seeking a Sous Chef to lead the culinary team during lunch buffet and à la carte lunch service. Collaborates with Chef de Cuisine and Food & Beverage leadership to deliver high-quality, well-planned menus and events, including daily rotating menus for the Golfer’s buffet, overseeing inventory and sanitation, guiding line cooks, and ensuring precise plating and service standards. Responsibilities include writing and designing a la carte menus, training staff, expediting orders, maintaining allergen information for FOH, and maintaining kitchen organization and efficiency. Requires strong leadership, diplomacy, and the ability to manage workloads under pressure; a significant in-season time commitment is expected. Required Qualifications

  • associate’s degree in culinary arts preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive culinary experience in a leadership position
  • ServSafe certified
  • Ability to organize workloads and meet time deadlines
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Experience with Microsoft software programs
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions
  • Ability to multitask and handle stressful situations
