Job Summary
Sous Chef at Jordan Pond House oversees opening/closing the kitchen, mentors and trains staff, enforces safety and sanitation, ensures high-quality presentation and taste, assists with daily specials and menu ideas, and manages inventory and waste with cost-conscious practices. Requires leadership experience in a fast-paced kitchen, familiarity with POS systems, inventory control, food cost management, and ServSafe or Food Handler Certification. Seasonal role with operation May through October in Seal Harbor, ME, reporting to the Executive Chef.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- ServSafe or Food Handler Certification (required or to be obtained)
- At least 3 years of experience in the food and beverage industry with significant kitchen experience
- Proven leadership experience in a kitchen environment
- Strong understanding of POS systems, inventory management, and food cost control
