Job Summary
Leads and coordinates all kitchen activities as a Sous Chef, owning the service period and crew, supervising line cooks and stewarding, delegating tasks, and ensuring smooth operation. Works with the CDC/EC on menu development and implementation, assists with recipe techniques and station prep, stays abreast of menu changes, and communicates effectively about day-to-day service, private events, and staff assignments. Maintains clean, organized walk-ins and storage, collaborates on cost control (food and labor), orders daily/weekly products, and supports overall kitchen operations with discipline, professionalism, and enthusiasm for 21c hospitality. Must have strong English communication, pass a background check, and be available for nights and weekends; travel as needed. All information kept confidential per EEO guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years experience in a fine dining restaurant environment.
- Understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
- Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling processes.
- Able to work flexible hours (nights, weekends).
- Responsible, dependable, punctual.
- Excellent communication skills; must speak, read, and understand English.
- Must pass a background check.
