Job Summary
Sourcing Specialist I responsible for planning and controlling the activities of a designated sourcing unit, coordinating vendor site visits, and driving market research to identify opportunities. The role involves supervising trips of staff with foreign and resident Buyers, negotiating best prices in collaboration with TJX buyers, coordinating foreign trips and trade show attendance, ensuring vendor meeting standards (Social Compliance and Cargo Security), and evaluating markets to recommend optimal sources. Requires university-level education, 5+ years in sourcing/production with 2+ years in buying office roles, proficiency in Cantonese/Mandarin/English, and willingness to travel. The position collaborates with TJX global sourcing, and supports manufacturing and production schedules across regions including Mexico, U.S., Canada, and the U.K. Location: Kwun Tong, Hong Kong.
Required Qualifications
- University graduate with minimum 5 years’ solid experience in sourcing and production or related field of which at least 2 years’ experience in buying office, agent or well-known importer catering to Mexico or U.S. Market
- Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English
- Understanding of buying office, manufacturing principles, materials, production process, U.S. customs and International logistics and trade
- Independent with good negotiation, organization, problem solving and time management skills
- Willing and able to frequently travel to explore new opportunities
- Strong business acumen and entrepreneurial mindset
- Knowledgeable in latest market trends
- Ability to supervise and coordinate staff and vendor relationships
- Experience with Social Compliance and Cargo Security Programs
