Job Summary
Lead sourcing activities for NPD projects involving fabricated and welded components, identifying and evaluating suppliers for sheet metal, steel fabrication, pipe bending, and chassis assemblies. Perform detailed product costing, should-cost analysis, and Zero-Based Costing to achieve cost reduction targets while conducting commercial negotiations for competitive pricing and delivery commitments. Collaborate with Design, R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to analyze engineering drawings and BOMs, drive supplier capability assessments, and support prototype and production build requirements. Monitor supplier performance against quality, cost, and development milestones to identify value engineering opportunities. Requires strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes, automotive or EV manufacturing experience, and proficiency in SAP/ERP systems.
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of metal fabrication, steel fabrication, welding, and sheet metal manufacturing processes
- Experience in sourcing chassis, tubular structures, pipe bending, and fabricated automotive components
- Expertise in product costing, should costing, and Zero-Based Costing methodologies
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements
- Understanding of automotive or EV manufacturing processes
- Experience in supplier development, localization, and NPD sourcing activities
- Proficiency in SAP/ERP systems and MS Excel
