Job Summary
Strategic technical procurement and supplier management for SpaceX Starship program, including developing and executing sourcing plans, supplier development, cost negotiations, and risk management to support aggressive cost and production rate goals. Responsibilities include analyzing supplier spend and capabilities to drive cost reduction, expanding the supplier base for forged and complex machined parts, managing vendor performance across cost, quality, and delivery, presenting roadmaps and supply landscape to internal stakeholders, ensuring on-time fulfillment from the vendor base, managing inventory health and NPI logistics, leading negotiations and contract work with suppliers, and traveling to supplier facilities as needed while maintaining close collaboration with engineering and production teams. The role requires strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, experience with RFIs/RFPs/RFQs, and the ability to operate in a fast-moving aerospace environment; travel up to 15%; on-site in Hawthorne, CA.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree and 3+ years of experience in Engineering, Purchasing, Contract negotiation, Operations or supply chain management, Cost control; or Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years; or 9+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Engineering, Purchasing, Contract negotiation, Operations or supply chain management, Cost control
