Job Summary
Sourcing Manager- Packaging role based in Kansas City, MO, with three days onsite weekly. Lead sourcing and supplier management for packaging materials (corrugated board, display-ready cartons, shippers, labels, soft cell wadding, and related components). Develop category strategies, negotiate contracts, and build strong supplier partnerships to ensure quality, continuity of supply, and cost competitiveness. Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Operations, Planning, and Quality to align packaging solutions with product launches, production requirements, quality standards, and inventory goals. Manage market analysis, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives using data and KPIs. Ensure compliance with GMP and FSQA training when visiting manufacturing plants. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the food or confectionery industry
- Proven ability to develop and execute sourcing strategies that deliver cost savings, improve quality, and mitigate supply chain risks
- Solid understanding of raw material markets, industry trends, and supply chain dynamics
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ERP systems
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken)
