Sourcing Manager

Job Summary

Drive the development and execution of Chemicals and Contract Manufacturing sourcing strategy, including RFI/RFP creation, leading supplier negotiations, and global stakeholder management. Serve as department lead on cost and service improvement initiatives, working closely with sourcing associates and cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement with key strategic suppliers. Successfully lead and influence projects to successful completion, such as supplier transitions and cost reduction efforts, while identifying and executing risk mitigation strategies to prevent supply disruption. This role requires approximately 10-20% travel with overnight stays and reports to the Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing within the Supply Chain and Ops Excellence organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5 years in Sourcing in Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical industry or Consumer Packaged Goods CHEMICAL sourcing industry
  • Experience w/ managing RFI /RFP workflow through to Supplier Business award and Contract Negotiation
  • Knowledge and understanding of cost drivers and ability to apply within negotiations, development of strategies and embarking upon cost improvement opportunities
  • Ability to travel approx. 10- 20% with overnight stay

Desired Qualifications

  • Preferred in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance or Logistics
  • MBA
  • Previous experience in: 2-3 year Indirect Sourcing experience with MRO/Facilities, IT, Marketing spend
  • Manufacturing Environments
  • Lean Thinking Principles
  • Operational Finance
  • Strategic Planning and/or Logistics experience
  • 2 years of Project Management experience within a Supply Chain organization
