Sourcing and Contracting Specialist – Oilsands (Mining)

Job Summary
Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives and contract formation for Canadian Natural’s operations and projects; partner with stakeholders, suppliers, and legal teams to deliver optimized sourcing strategies, secure favorable terms, ensure compliance, and manage risk while driving cost efficiency. Develop high-quality communications that distill complex commercial, legal, and operational information into strategic recommendations for senior leadership. Manage supplier and contractor relationships, ensuring performance and compliance; drive continuous improvement initiatives. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5-10 years in sourcing/contracting in the energy sector, with experience drafting and negotiating complex contracts up to $50MM; knowledge of contract law and industry regulations; CSCP/CPSM are assets.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering, law, or a related field from a recognized university
- Minimum of 5 - 10 years of progressive experience in sourcing and contracting experience within the energy sector or a related industry
- Proven expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex contracts up to $50 MM, with strong knowledge of contract law and industry regulations applicable to the Canadian energy market
