Job Summary

Social Media Officer in Plan Indonesia based in Jakarta will develop and publish content across platforms, manage online communities, monitor performance, and support campaigns on children's rights, gender equality, and girls’ rights. Responsibilities include creating social media assets (captions, reels, videos, carousels), maintaining monthly content calendars, engagement and community management, supporting national campaigns and events, monitoring analytics, preparing reports, collaborating with programme teams and external partners, and upholding safeguarding, PSHEA, and GEDSI standards. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2–4 years in NGO/non-profit social media, strong bilingual copywriting ( Bahasa Indonesia and English ), proficiency with Canva/CapCut/Adobe Express, experience with content strategy and calendars, and travel readiness; fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia; understanding of human rights and child/girls’ rights in digital communication.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, Digital Marketing, or related fields
  • 2–4 years of professional experience managing social media content for non-profit organizations, social campaigns, or online media outlets
  • Proven track record in creating digital content (copy, visuals, and videos) that drives awareness and engagement
  • Excellent copywriting in Bahasa Indonesia and English
  • Proficiency with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express or similar tools
  • Strong visual storytelling and inclusive representation in content
  • Experience developing and executing social media strategies and content calendars for campaigns
  • Experience in NGO/non-profit sector is a valuable asset
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and collaboration across teams
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and their algorithms (Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube)
  • Ability to stay up-to-date with social media trends and translate them into mission-driven content
  • Creative planning, scheduling, and performance tracking using analytics/tools
  • Tech-savvy with tools for community engagement, social listening, and analytics
  • Strong teamwork and coordination across departments and with external creatives/partners
  • Good networking with relevant institutions and digital creators
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools (Trello, Notion, Asana)
  • Ability to deliver quality outputs under tight deadlines
  • Willingness to travel domestically or internationally (up to 90 days annually)
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia
  • Understanding of human rights, child rights, and girls’ rights in digital communication
  • Ability to organize resources, establish priorities, and maintain confidentiality
