Job Summary
Sort and categorize donated items into designated categories such as clothing, textiles, accessories, household goods, and electronics. Inspect items for quality, cleanliness, and suitability for sale, ensuring they meet standards before distribution to appropriate departments. Maintain cleanliness in sorting areas and collaborate with team members to achieve production targets while following safety protocols. Work in a fast-paced, noisy environment with bright lighting, requiring flexibility to switch tasks based on operational needs. This role is part of the RWB Thrift production team, supporting the initial processing of donations for store distribution.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 70 lbs
- Ability to frequently exert up to 25 lbs of force
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Proficiency in performing repetitive motions such as extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
- Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and busy environment
- Ability to work effectively in a noisy environment
- Ability to work effectively in a bright environment
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- High degree of flexibility
- Fundamental understanding of written and spoken English for comprehending instructions
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
