Sonologist Associate - Ultrasound, Per-Diem, Rotating Shifts

Per-diem Sonologist Associate responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures per industry standards within the Northwestern Medicine system. Responsibilities include evaluating requests for ultrasound services, selecting appropriate procedure protocols, operating imaging equipment, generating ultrasound images, and providing patient education to reduce anxiety. Will supervise students and residents, document imaging procedures, ensure medical necessity and image quality, participate in process improvement, and provide leadership in developing protocols and new technologies. Additional duties include dictating and diagnosing ultrasound exams delegated by the supervising physician, reviewing patient history and supporting clinical information, ensuring orders are complete, synthesizing findings, and facilitating communication with interpreting physicians. Must maintain ARDMS certification and provide re-scanning support as needed, with a focus on high-quality patient care and compliance with facility policies. The role emphasizes the clinical leadership and mentorship of staff sonographers, along with adherence to compliance and safety standards.
