Job Summary

Review patient history, physician orders, and schedules patients. Educate patients on procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure cooperation. Prepare and administer contrast media or medications when ordered. Monitor patient condition, report status changes, and position patients for imaging. Select exposure factors, analyze results, and resolve image quality issues by re-positioning or repeating procedures. Enter, transmit, and report scan results. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform quality control. Work within scope of practice with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program
  • Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • State licensure if required by law
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
  • BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
