Job Summary
The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs patient assessments and data analysis using ultrasound technologies to assist in patient diagnosis and management. Responsibilities include providing summarizations to physicians, maintaining confidentiality, and demonstrating knowledge of patient care across the lifespan. The position requires the ability to work independently, manage stress, and utilize EMR and PACS systems effectively. Must have an accredited ultrasound program completion, appropriate registrations, and BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited ultrasound program or registered with a minimum of 2 years ultrasound experience required
- Registered in Abdomen and/or OB/GYN required
- BLS certification required
- Maintains professional credentials specifically related to Sonography & participates in continuing ed. activities through professional societies & orgs.
Desired Qualifications
- BS degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound preferred
- Minimum of one year Ultrasound experience preferred
