Job Summary
Perform diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images for interpretation. Set up and adjust all equipment, manually maneuver transducers, and ensure proper functioning while implementing safety standards and quality control procedures. Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations, then ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS with correct labeling and patient data. Maintain a clean, orderly department and comply with regulatory agencies while working in a constant state of alertness. Perform other duties as assigned. Requires Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certification with appropriate specialty (Abdomen, OB/GYN, or Vascular) and Basic Life Support certification.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Sonography program
- State of Work Location: Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Abdomen (AB) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
