Job Summary
Per diem sonographer performing abdominal, vascular, OB/GYN, and/or transcranial Doppler ultrasound scans. Produces ultrasound images and obtains required measurements using various transducers and imaging techniques in compliance with physician-directed standards. Reviews patient chart for history and orders, documents scan findings, and communicates preliminary reports to physicians. Assists with invasive procedures under sonographic guidance, maintains exam rooms, participates in meetings and continuing education, and serves as a preceptor to ultrasound students.
Required Qualifications
- Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate OR Bachelor's Degree in Ultrasound
- RDMS certification (within 6 months of graduation for Accredited programs; within 18 months for non-accredited programs) for Radiology sites/affiliates
- BLS certification preferred (for Radiology sites without ACR accreditation)
- New Graduates: Official transcript or state registrar’s letter confirming program completion within start date constraints
