Sonographer- Ochsner West Bank- Full Time

Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations under the direction of a radiologist in outpatient and inpatient settings; compiles patient history and diagnostic information from ultrasound examinations and presents preliminary findings to the radiologist; uses standard techniques and selects appropriate equipment and transducers; maintains compliance with department protocols, safety and privacy standards; requires ARDMS certification in Abdominal/OB-Gyn or Cardiac, BLS, and RVT certification within two years of hire; emphasizes data entry and computer skills, effective written and verbal communication, and knowledge of relevant abdominal anatomy to support radiologists' preliminary diagnoses. Responsibilities include adapting explanations to patient needs, ensuring equipment calibration, and supporting professional development; ensures adherence to regulatory and organizational standards and participates in ongoing education. Note: position supports flexible scheduling and is contingent on meeting qualifications and protocol requirements.
