Job Summary
Perform high quality obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound examinations and procedures, setting up equipment and positioning patients appropriately. Operate ultrasound machines with minimal physician guidance for various assessments including fetal well-being, amniotic fluid assessment, and detailed fetal imaging. Process and label laboratory samples, generate reports, and submit billing with appropriate diagnostic codes. Demonstrate techniques to students and residents. Requires active ARDMS certification, a minimum of two years' experience, and CME maintenance for registration.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program
- Active certification by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in OB/GYN
- Minimum of two years of experience as an ultrasound technologist
- Certification with Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF) to perform first trimester nuchal translucency for risk assessment within one year of hire
- Maintenance of required CME credits for registration with ARDMS is necessary
