Job Summary
Perform advanced obstetric ultrasound examinations, including first, second, and third trimester detailed fetal anatomy scans, nuchal translucency measurements, fetal echocardiography, and Doppler evaluations. Assist physicians with ultrasound-guided procedures such as amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, and fetal blood sampling. Accurately capture, analyze, and document sonographic findings in accordance with MFM protocols and report abnormal findings to interpreting physicians. Maintain detailed electronic medical records, manage image archiving within PACS systems, and ensure patient safety and confidentiality. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including MFM physicians, OB/GYN providers, nurses, and genetic counselors to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Maintain ultrasound equipment performance through routine quality assurance checks and stay current with evolving best practices and continuing education in Maternal Fetal Medicine imaging.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program
- Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- State licensure if required by law
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer
- BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
