Job Summary
Review patient history, physician orders, and schedules; educate patients on procedures and equipment to ensure cooperation. Prepare and administer contrast media or medications when ordered. Continually monitor patient condition, report status changes, and select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Position patients, perform imaging procedures, and analyze results to identify quality issues. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, implement safety standards, and perform quality control procedures. Enter, transmit, and report scan results. Maternal Fetal Medicine experience strongly preferred. BLS certification required with card valid through sixty days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program
- Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- State licensure if required by law
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
