Job Summary
Communicate effectively with patients to obtain clinical history and informed consent, then explain procedures to ease anxiety and ensure cooperation. Assist physicians in performing examinations using standard department protocols, isolation precautions, and sterile technique while recognizing and resolving clinical or emergent problems that may interfere with exams. Provide Basic Life Support upon start and obtain ARRT, ARDMS, RDMS, or RVT certification within 18 months. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- Basic Life Support Upon Start
- ARRT, ARDMS, RDMS or RVT certification as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or must be registry eligible and obtain certification within 18 months from date of hire
- Recent experience in a hospital/healthcare environment as a sonographer or sonography student
