Job Summary
Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations across abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, breast, and MSK specialties while operating equipment to minimize patient exposure. Review imaging requests and patient history to determine appropriate protocols, then assess and care for patients throughout procedures in accordance with age-specific standards. Provide patient education before, during, and after exams to reduce anxiety, assist with positioning and transport, and accurately document procedures for billing and PACS transmission. Prepare examination rooms, maintain supply inventory, and report equipment malfunctions promptly. Communicate acute findings to ordering providers and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Manage daily worklists by clinical urgency and provide clinical instruction to students as assigned. Work part-time (20 hours per week) on night shifts at the Grayslake Outpatient Center with a Freestanding ER.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Sonography Program
- Certified in two American Registry for Diagnostic Sonographer (ARDMS) areas
- one additional ARDMS certification obtained within one year of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Must be able to lift and assist with patient positioning, lifting, and transport
- Must be available for night shift
- Must be available for part time (20 hours per week)
- Must complete background check authorization and disclosure form
- Must comply with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards
- Must adhere to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program
