Job Summary
The Sonographer III assists physicians in the performance of diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the ultrasound equipment to obtain diagnostic scans. The role requires ARRT/CAAHEP- or ARDMS-certified Sonography training with three years of experience, ARDMS certification in three specialties with a Vascular Technology focus, and an applicable state license. The examiner must ensure the examination demographics align with the hiring site’s requirements and maintain certification and licensure as specified. The position is based in Charlotte, NC and involves performing ultrasound procedures in accordance with physician directives and departmental standards, utilizing the appropriate sonography protocols and credentialed certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of ARRT-approved Sonography Program; or CAAHEP-recognized Sonography Program, required
- Minimum of three years of experience in sonography, required
- Certified and registered by ARDMS in three specialties; Vascular Technology is a required specialty; appropriate subspecialty certifications as listed (Pediatric Sonography, Obstetrics/Gynecology Sonography, Abdomen Sonography, Musculoskeletal Sonography) as options for required additional certifications; Breast Sonography excluded from one of the three required; Vascular Technology certification by ARRT in Vascular Sonography; RDMS, RT(S) or equivalent in various categories; RDMS, RVT, VT or by CCI in Vascular Ultrasound; RDMS, RMSKS, MSKS as applicable
