Job Summary
Conduct diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images for interpretation. Set up and adjust equipment, manually maneuver transducers, and perform routine and complex studies while recognizing significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations. Implement safety standards, perform quality control procedures, and ensure prompt submission of high-quality images to PACS with correct labeling and patient data. Maintain a clean, orderly department and comply with regulatory agencies while reporting equipment malfunctions or performing lock/tag-out procedures as appropriate. Requires a registered sonographer with two or more registries (e.g., ABD/OB, ABD/MSK) and BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Sonography program
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Abdomen (AB) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Second registry must be used in primary department or secondary department 30% of the time
- State of Work Location: Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin
