Job Summary
Conduct diagnostic sonography procedures to deliver high-quality images for patient diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring. Perform routine sonographic examinations while adhering to local, state, and federal regulations to ensure privacy and safety. Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers to gain cooperation and explain sensitive information professionally. Operate and maintain imaging equipment using general knowledge of diagnostic principles and human anatomy. Manage assignments within established timeframes and prioritize tasks under clearly defined procedures. Ensure accurate results in a timely manner while collaborating with peers to achieve departmental objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program OR possession of ARDMS evidencing completion of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- ARDMS-American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer within 90 days of hire or within 6 months if hired before 05/07/2026
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- General knowledge of diagnostic sonography principles, procedures, and views
- Operation and maintenance of imaging equipment
- Capable of performing routine sonographic examinations
- Basic understanding of human anatomy
- Basic understanding of physiology
- Basic understanding of pathology
- Basic understanding of medical terminology
- Solid written communications skills
- Solid verbal communications skills

- Ability to prioritize assignments
- Ability to work within standardized policies, procedures, and practices
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Basic knowledge of Radiology (RIS) information systems
- Basic knowledge of laboratory (LIS) information systems
- Basic knowledge of electronic health records (EHR)
- Basic knowledge of EPIC
- Basic knowledge of picture archive and communication system (PACS)
- Ability to work under close supervision or within clearly defined procedures
- Ability to complete assignments within established timeframes
- Ability to identify and solve routine or standard problems using existing procedures
- Ability to ensure the privacy of each patient's protected health information (PHI)
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers
