Job Summary
Breast Sonographer I performing breast ultrasound procedures under Radiologist supervision in a part-time, first-shift role at St. Luke’s Mammography. Responsibilities include selecting transducers and factors for accurate imaging, differentiating normal from pathologic findings, communicating results to interpreting physicians, maintaining patient safety and comfort, reviewing patient history and orders, labeling images with patient details, documenting in the radiology information system, and contributing to ongoing quality and regulatory compliance. Requires ARDMS RDMS (abdomen and OB/GYN) credentials with timelines, BLS certification within specified windows, and proven competency in breast sonographic procedures with strong interpersonal communication and independent judgment.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Sonographer preferred (RDMS) or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced training beyond high school in Sonography or accredited program
- Licensure/registration in diagnostic medical sonography or ARDMS
- Owns or has access to ultrasound equipment and transducers appropriate for breast imaging
