Job Summary
Operates ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular and/or cardiac studies, reviews patient records to obtain clinical information, positions patients and selects transducers to obtain accurate images, ensures patient safety and comfort, documents imaging and billing codes, maintains records per regulatory standards, and communicates findings to physicians. Requires ARDMS/RDMS/ARRT-related registrations within specified timelines and completion of an accredited sonography program; strong technical, clinical, and communication skills essential.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by ARDMS within 3 months
- Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by ARDMS within 3 months
- Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by ARDMS within 3 months
- Vascular Sonography (VS) registration issued by ARRT within 3 months
- Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS-AE) registration with Adult Echo issued by ARDMS within 18 months
- Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) registration issued by CCI within 18 months
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification by AHA within 6 months
- Education: Advanced training beyond High School including an accredited sonography program
- Experience: No experience required
- Competency in general/vascular sonographic procedures
- Ability to differentiate normal vs pathologic findings
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments
- Flexibility in schedule
