Job Summary
Conduct diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images for interpretation. Set up and adjust equipment, manually maneuver transducers, and perform routine and complex studies while recognizing significant structures, artifacts, and pathology. Implement safety standards, perform quality control, and ensure proper equipment function by reporting malfunctions or locking/tagging out devices as appropriate. Submit high-quality images and documents to PACS with correct labeling and patient data, maintaining a clean and orderly department. Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies and work in a constant state of alertness. Requires a registered sonographer with two or more registries (e.g., ABD/OB, ABD/MSK) and BLS certification. Night shift, 36 weekly hours.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Sonography program
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Abdomen (AB) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Second registry must be used in primary department or secondary department 30% of the time
- State of Work Location: Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin
