Job Summary
Perform ultrasonic diagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians, explaining steps to patients to ensure cooperation and optimum test results. Position patients, select appropriate transducers based on depth and organ targets, conduct scanning procedures, and adjust equipment to focus. Make hard copy images as directed and document tests. Assist physicians with procedures such as amniocentesis, participate in quality assessment and improvement plans, and assist with staff/student training. Enter data into the report system and monitor inventory of supplies, orders, and expired items.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Sonography or Associates or certificate of completion from an accredited School of Radiology
- RDMS (OB/GYN) - American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within 1 Year
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
- Ability to work the hours specified
Desired Qualifications
- 1-3 years of additional ultrasound experience/training in OB/GYN
