Job Summary
Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations using cognitive skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures based on anatomical and pathological information. Analyze sonograms, synthesize findings with medical history, and communicate results to physicians while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Assist with daily laboratory operations, complete patient logs and billing forms, and maintain ultrasound equipment and supplies. Coordinate care across staff and travel to other clinics when needed to address patient care problems. Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and company policies while maintaining ethical relationships with referral offices.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or other related training
- One (1) or more years of experience performing OB/GYN ultrasound
- Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
- Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty as appropriate
- Current AHA approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card or within 60 days of hire
- Must obtain Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) credential with an OB/GYN specialty within 12 months of employment
- Ability to effectively operate sonographic equipment
- Ability to evaluate sonograms in order to acquire appropriate diagnostic information
- Ability to integrate diagnostic sonograms, laboratory results, patient history and medical records, and adapt sonographic examination as necessary
- Ability to use independent judgment to acquire the optimum diagnostic sonographic information in each examination performed
- Ability to evaluate, synthesize, and communicate diagnostic information to the attending physician
- Ability to communicate effectively with the patient and the health care team, recognizing the special nature of sonographic examinations and patient's needs
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and health care team
- Ability to follow established departmental procedures
- Ability to work efficiently and cope with emergency situations
- Must be customer oriented in order to provide outstanding services to patients, physicians and co-workers
- Ability to maintain awareness of patient privacy, confidentiality and dignity at all times
- Ability to engage others, listen and adapt response to meet others' needs
- Ability to align own actions with those of other team members committed to common goals
- Excellent computer and keyboarding skills, including familiarity with Windows
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability to perform job duties in a professional manner at all times

- Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology

- Part Time or Full Time schedule between Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm
