Job Summary
Perform ultrasound examinations under physician direction to identify abnormalities for patient diagnosis, ensuring proper identification, verifying orders, and preparing patients. Utilize appropriate imaging techniques and protocols across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics, while maintaining proficiency on clinical equipment. Complete and annotate medically acceptable exams following ACR guidelines, manage medical necessity, coding, and charging, and document all events accurately. Adhere to safety practices, sterile techniques, and quality control programs, including reporting equipment failures. Full-time 40-hour schedule with variable call rotation available at St. Mary's Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT Registry or ARDMS Registry
- The ARDMS must include successful completion of one registry pertinent to the department beyond physics (options include OB, abdominal, neuro, breast, and, vascular)
- Basic life support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
- Must have completed a minimum of two additional years of experience relevant to the department post obtaining Ultrasound Tech I
- Primary Children's one of the two years must be pediatric experience
- American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) Registry - Successful completion of one additional registry pertinent to the department beyond Ultrasound Technologist I or (SPI + 2 registries)
- Options include Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN), abdominal, neuro, breast, pediatric, Vascular, or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
- Primary Children's one of the two registries must be pediatric
- Health Services BCLS - Basic life support (Certification for Healthcare Providers)
