Job Summary
Perform a variety of technical procedures using high frequency ultrasound waves for diagnostic purposes, demonstrating proficiency in complex transthoracic and stress echocardiography. Responsibilities include conducting independent echocardiographic studies, ensuring accurate capture of anatomical and clinical conditions, performing cardiac measurements to support diagnostic reporting, and maintaining exam room and equipment cleanliness. The role requires obtaining patient history, vital signs, and assessing contraindications. Education and training of cardiology fellows and student interns is also part of this position, along with a commitment to ongoing professional development in cardiology and echocardiography.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- 2 years of experience in cardiac imaging or related field
- 1 year of independent clinical echocardiographic scanning experience in a hospital or outpatient environment
- RDCS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or RCS - Registered Cardiac Sonographer upon hire required
- RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist preferred
