Job Summary
Sommelier sought to be our resident wine expert. Responsibilities include coordinating with the head chef to create a wine list, recommending wine pairings, describing wines to patrons, serving wine at correct temperatures with proper glassware, managing the wine cellar, educating wait staff on available wines, building vendor relationships, negotiating best prices, and ensuring health and safety compliance. Ideal candidates are passionate about wine, knowledgeable about winemaking, and capable of developing relationships with winemakers and vendors.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Sommelier is preferred
- Sommelier certification or degree in hospitality is preferred
- Extensive knowledge of wine, winemaking, and local vineyards
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work nights and weekends with occasional travel
