Job Summary
Assist guests with wine and champagne selection by considering their taste and budget while guiding them through the menu. Anticipate guest needs and provide information regarding venues, menus, and pricing. Explain how wine and champagne selections complement food and dessert items, ensuring all wines are presented and served correctly according to company standards. Inform guests of alternative selections if their choice is unavailable and perform all other duties as instructed by management. This role requires experience as a Sommelier in an upscale, high-volume restaurant and availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Experience as a Sommelier in an upscale, high-volume restaurant
- Extensive knowledge of wine and wine service techniques
- Availability to work nights, weekends & holidays
- Positive attitude
- A guest-first mindset and passion for providing exemplary guest service
- Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
- Ability to take direction and to communicate effectively
Desired Qualifications
- CMS or WSET certifications preferred or equivalent from another accredited wine institution
