Job Summary
Assist seniors and adults with disabilities with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, ambulation, meal preparation, and light housekeeping. Perform assigned clinical tasks such as reinforcing dressings, assisting with mobility devices, measuring intake and output, taking vital signs, and applying catheters or splints. Communicate effectively with clients and families while maintaining a sympathetic, honest, and approachable demeanor under pressure. Requires Somali language proficiency, current CPR and First Aid certification, and a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificate
- Speaks and understands Somali as it's needed for the job
- Must have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick, and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job
- Current CPR Certificate, First Aid and Food Handlers card is required
- Meets the requirements for employees providing direct patient care
- Read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
- Have a valid driver's license and use of an insured automobile for work or access to adequate transportation
