Job Summary
Solutions Engineer in Japan responsible for leading technical presales activities to drive technical wins during the sales cycle. Responsibilities include gaining a deep technical understanding of Idira and related technologies, guiding technical evaluation stages, responding to RFIs/RFPs with compelling technical and functional content, enabling successful customer PoCs, and communicating technical perspectives to product management and at industry seminars/tradeshows. The role requires strong cloud and security knowledge (AWS/Azure/GCP, IAM, PKI), Windows/AD and UNIX/Linux experience, excellent presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences, and collaboration with internal teams and partners in a Japanese market context. The position is office-based in Tokyo with a preference for in-person collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of presales or similar experience in high-tech sales
- Strong Windows/Active Directory administration and UNIX/Linux knowledge
- Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including IAM, networking, and security controls
- Excellent presentation and communication skills for technical and executive audiences
- Understanding of security concepts and security roles within organizations
- LDAP directories and LDAP authentication experience
- Enterprise application authentication experience (e.g., .NET, Java, CLI) a plus
- Application development experience and scripting knowledge preferred
- Fundamental understanding of PKI concepts, X.509 certificates, CA, and lifecycle management preferred
- Certifications such as CISSP or SANS a plus
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, AWS/Azure/GCP architect) desirable
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams including product management and partner teams
