Job Summary
Lead technical workshops and design reviews to translate client requirements into engineering briefs for development, design, and delivery teams. Provide electrical expertise across critical power infrastructure, including MV/LV distribution, UPS systems, and switchgear, while reviewing load analysis, protection coordination, and arc flash studies. Support Factory and Site Acceptance Testing, commissioning, and integrated systems activities to ensure operational readiness. Act as the technical authority for Electrical Engineering, identifying risks and coordinating multidisciplinary solutions across EMEA projects with up to 25% travel. Contribute feedback to refine engineering standards and deliver mission-critical infrastructure for global digital platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Strong electrical engineering experience within hyperscale data centres, mission-critical facilities or another technically complex infrastructure environment
- In-depth knowledge of critical power systems, including MV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, switchgear, transformers, protection systems, earthing and electrical monitoring
- Experience supporting data centre design and delivery through design development, construction, commissioning and operational handover, ideally across RIBA Stages 2-5 or an equivalent project lifecycle
- Experience reviewing Basis of Design documentation, technical specifications, calculations, design submissions and engineering changes
- Good understanding of resilience and availability strategies, including N+1, 2N, fault tolerance, concurrent maintainability, capacity planning and scalability
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to lead workshops, challenge constructively and explain complex engineering decisions clearly
- Sound technical judgement, analytical capability and a structured approach to risk identification and problem-solving
- Ability to collaborate across Development, Design Engineering, Delivery and Operations while maintaining clear ownership of client technical requirements
- Degree, HND/HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrable experience
- Ability to evaluate engineering decisions considering their impact on adjacent disciplines, operational resilience, maintainability and long-term asset performance
- Understanding of integrated data centre systems and the interaction between electrical, mechanical and control systems throughout design, commissioning and operations
- Strong written and verbal English language skills
- Experience working across European markets

- Experience of FAT, SAT, commissioning, IST and technical acceptance activities
- Professional accreditation or chartership
- Travel of up to 25% as required
