Job Summary
Water Digital Solutions Architect to support North America Water & Wastewater (W/WW) business. The role focuses on industry-first, consultative and digitally aware architecture to help utilities and industrial water users improve operational performance, sustainability, reliability, and workforce effectiveness through digitalization and automation. Must combine strong W/WW domain knowledge with business development capabilities and the ability to engage customers in operational and digital transformation initiatives. Responsibilities include developing solution architectures to support Direct/Indirect Sales Teams in pre-sales activities; providing solution design and water industry guidance to Sales, Proposals, Marketing, and Product Management; collaborating with Sales to craft solutions, demonstrations, and scope estimates; cross-functional work to drive product plans and capture customer feedback; promoting DX solutions such as predictive maintenance, asset diagnostics, and enterprise integration; supporting project delivery post-sale for timely and profitable execution; building technical relationships with utilities, EPCs, engineering consultants, technology partners, and industrial water users; identifying opportunities related to DX, SCADA/DCS modernization, asset performance management, remote operations, energy optimization, AI/data analytics, and water sustainability; working with Proposal Managers on customer requirements, cost estimates, and implementation planning; defining system specifications and solutions with customer input; leveraging Yokogawa’s DX solution portfolio; sharing knowledge internally; delivering training and presenting to customers and industry events; staying aware of industry trends, regulations, and funding initiatives; travel 30-50% within North America.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related discipline preferred
- 5+ years of experience in Water & Wastewater, industrial water, environmental services, or related industries
- Experience in DX solutions architecture, sales support, consulting, OT, engineering, or utility engagement
- Strong understanding of W/WW operational environments and customer challenges
- Familiarity with automation, SCADA, instrumentation, digitalization, analytics, or operational technologies preferred
- Existing industry relationships and participation in industry associations are considered a strong plus
- Experience working with municipalities, utilities, EPCs, or industrial end users preferred
- Travel: approximately 30-50% for customer office/plant visits within North America
