Solutions Architect - Security

Job Summary
Design end-to-end technology solutions aligned to enterprise architecture, strategy, and target-state capabilities while embedding security principles throughout solution design and delivery. Partner with product owners, delivery leads, and engineering teams to turn complex requirements into clear, actionable designs, guiding technical decisions that balance short-term delivery with long-term sustainability. Provide architectural governance and assurance across the delivery lifecycle, identifying risks and opportunities to improve simplicity, reuse, and coherence through modern approaches like API-led integration and cloud-native design. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to influence transformational change and create lasting impact on Skipton's platforms. Work three days a week in our Skipton office with two days remote.
Required Qualifications
- Strong solution architecture expertise with experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale technology solutions
- Security-minded approach, embedding security principles throughout solution design and delivery
- Knowledge of security controls across identity, data, cloud and modern technology environments
- Experience designing resilient, scalable architectures that balance risk, usability and delivery outcomes
- Familiarity with modern architecture patterns (APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture, cloud platforms)
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across business, technology, engineering and risk stakeholders
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to explain complex concepts and support decision-making at all levels
- Azure experienced
